Scratch Built Productions creates interactive and immersive theatre experiences, take part activities and youth programmes that spark imagination and bring communities together. We remove barriers to creativity, ensuring everyone—regardless of age, ability, or background—can access the arts.

As a Community Interest Company, our work is guided by four core values:

Meet the Team

    Nick Ash

    Nick is the artistic director and co founder! He started Scratch Built Productions in 2006 with his brother in law Geoff Smith. With an aim of creating aesthetically stimulating shows for children and adults alike. He is in high demand as a puppet maker and set builder, most notably Sarah and Duck and Charlie and Lola. He is also the go to puppet guy for the incredible author Julia Donaldson.

    Becky Kitter

    Becky is the CEO, producer and director of Scratch Built Productions. She is also an actor, cabaret host and balloon artist! She stared as Ma Ha Ha in Cartoonito’s "The Ha Ha Hairies" and as Mrs Pufferbang in "Grandpa in My Pocket." for Cbeebies. She was also a patron of the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth.

    Claire Clark

    Claire is the production assistant for Scratch Built Productions , which means she does everything! She is an amazing stage manager and is great at sorting stuff out! She is huge supporter of exit 6 Film festival and has been an assistant producer and presenter.
